The "Romance Scam", a term used by police to refer to romance scams online, is taking alarming proportions in Europe, according to SonntagsBlick in Switzerland. In 2019, the number of cases doubled in the three most populous cantons of German-speaking Switzerland, namely Aargau, Bern and Zurich. Zurich police tell the magazine that the real numbers are even higher, with a feeling of shame often preventing victims ruined to report the scam to the police. According to the Sunday weekly, it is the elderly who are most often victims of this type of scam. Women over 50 are also particularly affected. If you have been the victim of one of the various platforms of 'scam, do not hesitate to file your complaint online at the following address:
